Sylvia McHugh (She/Her)
Physical Therapist, Yoga Teacher,
“The joy is in the journey, the struggle is part of the joy and the final destination is not an end but another beginning of another journey.”
― Kathy Boyd Fellure
Sylvia is so grateful that her journey has brought her to where she is today. With an avid interest in the sciences of both the mind and the body early on in her studies, Sylvia received her B.A.S in Psychology in 2004 and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2008. Her intention was to bring her studies and understanding of human psychology into her treatment of the human body as a Physical Therapist. What she learned was that there was still something missing.
Diving into her own personal growth after being faced with her own traumatic life struggles, she was led into a workshop series at Room to Breathe. It was here that her eyes were open to the presence of the mind body spirit connection. Experiencing first hand through her own life and in the lives of her patients, the need for a balance in all three to cultivate healing, Sylvia continued on in her journey to study Yoga. She received her 200 hour Yoga Teacher certification at Room to Breathe in 2020.
Sylvia's passion is to serve as a guide, to both her patients and students, to empower them by bringing awareness to their own individual minds, bodies, and spirits and to promote health in all three realms.
