Samantha Allweiss, LCSW

she/her/hers

Samantha Allweiss is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a graduate of the University of Chicago where she completed her Masters in Clinical Social Work, with a certificate in International Social Work. She received her undergraduate degrees in Social Welfare and Gender and Women's Studies from the University of Wisconsin, Madison where she developed both a feminist and social justice lens that she brings to her work.

Samantha believes wholeheartedly in the importance of healing the mind-body connection and offers a supportive, empathic environment for facilitating personal growth and insight. After completing the Psychologically-Informed Yoga Certification program from Room to Breathe, she incorporates yoga practices into her clinical work when appropriate.

Samantha has worked with adolescents and adults from diverse backgrounds and uses a strengths-based and integrative framework to address the unique needs of each client. She specializes in working with individuals who are survivors of trauma and those who are experiencing mood-related issues, such as anxiety, depression, or bipolar disorder. Samantha has over eight years of experience serving refugees and new immigrant populations, working primarily through interpreters to deliver culturally responsive clinical services.

From this work, Samantha has developed an understanding of both the unique and interconnected aspects of life, and the importance of reducing isolation when we are suffering. In order to help clients gain control over their lives, Samantha works collaboratively with her clients to identify underlying thought patterns and ways of coping that may be negatively impacting their overall functioning. Samantha recognizes that it takes courage to reach out for support, and feels deeply honored by the opportunity to support her clients in becoming their most authentic, whole selves.
