OWNER AND CLINICAL DIRECTOR OF CENTER
Sara Buxton is a graduate of the Adler School of Professional Psychology where she received her Masters in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Sport and Health Psychology. She is provisionally certified by the Association of Applied Sport Psychology, one of the few among a small number of certified consultants in the state of Illinois.
Her masters training included clinical work in depression and anxiety, working with adolescents and adults in weight management, adjusting to healthy lifestyles, athletic challenges for amateurs and high school athletes. She is trained in cognitive-behavioral and rational emotive behavioral therapy focusing on lifestyle management, performance in sport and executive functions, along with weight management.
Sara is passionate about working with a large spectrum of clients to help with performance enhancement, working through set backs, and developing a sense of awareness to reach maximum potential. She is a strong advocate for exercise and nutrition as a way to manage life stress.
