AMELIA SAWYER, YOGA TEACHER
Amelia Sawyer teaches inviting and accessible yoga classes that unite movement and breath to release holding patterns and cultivate self-awareness. Amelia is passionate about teaching her students simple tools to improve overall health and wellbeing. She believes yoga is for everyone!
After her first yoga class, she felt an inexplicable wave of positivity that she knew she had to share. Building on a deep curiosity about the anatomy of the practice, she became a serious student of yoga. In 2016, she graduated from Moksha Yoga Center’s rigorous teacher training program, where she completed additional training in trauma-sensitive yoga with Catherine Ashton and restorative yoga with LeAnn Carey. She’s currently a student of massage therapy at the Soma Institute.
Amelia studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with an emphasis in art as a therapeutic process. Later, her experiences working with artists with disabilities made her more passionate about the interconnection of body health and mental wellness. Through her training in yoga, massage, art and psychology, Amelia brings a deep intelligence about the mind/body connection and its importance in daily life.
