Adam Grossi (He/Him)
Yoga Teacher, Author and Artist

Adam is a student of the philosophical, contemplative, and somatic dimensions of yoga. He is honored to be part of the teacher training faculty at Room to Breathe, where he facilitates sessions on philosophy and pranayama. His own journey with yoga began in his early twenties, when a traumatic mental health experience and a bipolar diagnosis began his inquiry into yoga's therapeutic potential. Years of disciplined personal practice have shown him that yoga practice is a vehicle through which he can inhabit the world more fully and express himself more deeply.

Adam studied for years with Jim Bennitt and James Tennant of Tejas Yoga, where he received his 200-hour and 500-hour trainings. His teaching is strongly influenced by their approach to vinyasa krama (intelligent sequencing) and the application of Ayurvedic principles to the physical practice. He continues to study with them, as well as with Elesa Commerse and Yoli Maya Yeh, in addition to many teachers in the form of books and friends on the spiritual path.

In 2014 Adam published Wind Through Quiet Tensions, a book about his experiences with mental health and yoga practice. He lives in the Andersonville neighborhood of Chicago, the homeland of the Anishinaabe people.
